Operations and Performance consulting in Nova Scotia

Systems That Hold

Practical consulting for organizations where too much depends on one or two people. Through Operational Flow and Performance Management, we get clear on who does what, how work moves and how your people are supported to grow. Your organization runs on clear systems, not one person’s memory.

When everything runs through you,
nothing runs without you.

Let’s build what holds when you step away.

Let’s Talk About Your Organization

Let’s build what holds
when you step away.

Is your organization running on systems, or on a few people holding it all together?

  • You can’t take a week off without your phone ringing.

  • Staff keep leaving, and you’re not quite sure why.

  • Nobody’s clear on who’s responsible for what, so things fall through the cracks.

  • One person handles the money, and nobody checks the work.

  • Performance problems get ignored until they turn into a crisis.

  • Your procedures live in people’s heads, not on paper.

Systems are the difference between steady and teetering.

Resilient, sustainable organizations aren’t held together by a few good people. They’re held up by systems everyone can count on.

See How We Build It

Meet Kelly

I’ve been the one holding it all together.

I grew up in my family’s lobster and seafood business and became its CFO at 25, later its Partner and Succession Planner. For years, every question ran through me. I know what it costs when the systems live in one person’s head, because for a long time, that person was me.

I’ve since sat in the owner’s chair, the CEO’s chair and the executive director’s chair. I know where money and people quietly leak out of an organization, and I know how to build the systems that stop it.

Two Ways to Build Systems That Hold

Not Sure Which You Need? jUST aSK

Operational Flow

Operational Flow looks at every part of how your organization runs, from the flow of paperwork to the flow of people. I find the gaps where things fall through, the places where work gets done twice, and the spots where one person holds too much control without proper oversight. Then I put clear, documented systems in place so everyone knows their role and their responsibilities.

The Result

Work moves smoothly, responsibilities are clear and your organization doesn’t stall when one person is away.

  • Purchasing to payment: how a purchase moves from purchase order to receiving, inventory, vendor payment and final sale

  • Payroll: recording hours worked, tracking missed time and keeping employee files up to date

  • Accounts receivable: who’s responsible for collections, how often overdue accounts are checked and what happens next

  • Roles and oversight: who owns each piece of the operational puzzle, and where one person has too much control without a second set of eyes

  • Documentation: written procedures for every key process, so nothing lives only in someone’s head

Every process, every handoff, every person. Mapped, documented and accounted for.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Performance Management covers the full journey of every person on your team, from the day you hire them to the day a hard conversation is needed. I build a consistent system for supporting people, giving feedback and holding everyone accountable, so performance stops depending on who happens to be managing that day.

  • Hiring: bringing the right people in, with clear roles from day one

  • Wellness check-ins: regular conversations that catch problems early

  • Feedback and feedforward: looking back at what happened, and forward to what comes next

  • Evaluations: fair, consistent reviews that actually mean something

  • Corrective action: a clear, documented process for when performance needs to change

Less turnover, more accountability and a team that knows exactly what’s expected of them.

The Result

Clear expectations. Honest feedback. People who know where they stand.
